With the better part of her adult life spent between western Othard and Ilsabard, Jue returns to Doma and its nascent rebuilding of its government as a civil servant.Fending off accusations of treason and getting in bed with the enemy, Jue believes that it was because of Doma’s reticence that the invasion happened in the first place. Modernization and matching the greater appetites of the rest of the star are key to Doma’s future in once again becoming the premier nation of the eastern sphere, or so she believes, and therein lies her gospel.Estranged from the friends and family she once called her rock, detested by former foe and would-be comrade alike, Jue stands as a product of two worlds, belonging to neither and fully ready to embrace a new era. She knows that she does not stand alone. But even she cannot fathom what the cost will be.
